Lawyer Moni T. Law has explored various interests including music, event promotion, filming, editing and producing films. She produced two documentaries in the early 1990’s. A huge fan of film, she is on the path of learning the new technology of filmmaking, and is primarily the ‘idea and concept’ person behind “Female Faces of War.” Ms. Law also provided a significant portion of the initial research, conducted most of the interviews, and assisted in the editing process.
She attended the University of California at Berkeley and law school at the University of San Francisco (J.D.,1986). Before starting her own practice, Ms. Law worked with Evergreen Legal Services in Yakima, Washington handling elder law, public benefits and domestic violence cases, and with Blaine Tamaki & Associates in Yakima practicing personal injury, medical negligence, discrimination law, and police abuse cases. She also handled personal injury, discrimination and sexual harassment litigation in state and federal court for the Levinson Friedman firm in Seattle.
Her film credits include:
● “Hazel Umtuch: The Golden Child,”
● “I’ll Take You There, A Black History Musical.”
Ms. Law said of her involvement in the film since its inception in April 2007, “Kiya and I are driven to complete this project, and compelled to reveal these faces and voices for the entire world to see and hear what women have experienced from the Iraq war. It has been an honor and blessing to pour thousands of hours of time into this labor of love. I cry every time I watch it.”
