Kiya Bodding brings to this production a broad base of experience in television, education, and media development. She received her MA in Instructional Technology at the University of Oregon and has produced successful promotional and motivational programs on tobacco use interventions, head injuries, early childhood education, social work and numerous instructional programs.
Ms. Bodding served as Executive Director of Community Cable Television in Eugene, Oregon, as Coordinator of Instructional Television at the University of Oregon, Media Arts Teacher for Lane Arts Council and Producer/Director/Editor for Bellevue TV21 and Bellevue Community College Television Services. With more than seven years experience teaching youth video production and media literacy, she is also dedicated to encouraging young people to become knowledgeable, critical viewers and users of media as well as to promoting inter-cultural understanding, empowering youth and telling the stories of ordinary people.
Her credits include:
● Produced, directed and/or edited segments in It's Your City, for Bellevue TV 21 and in City View for Renton TV 21.
● Awarded best magzine format series in class at the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors annual conference for the March 2007 It's Your City including her segment "Eastside Dream Team."
● Produced, directed and edited two documentaries for the University of Oregon : Mainstreaming in the Preschool and Decade of Women’s Studies.
● Directed and edited a documentary, The Open School, for Alaska Methodist University.
● Produced and edited documentaries designed to encourage people to take advantage of service programs: Head Start Makes a Difference and The Hidden Epidemic: Head Injuries.
● Produced Access Gazette, a highly successful weekly community public affairs program.
